Of Books And Coffee Shops

I spent almost the whole day in coffee shops today finishing off two novels - Pretty Woman and The Broker. Most of my fellow sit-ins are either students or elderly. Do you know any sane person who'd actually spend the entire Monday reading pocket books in coffee shops instead of wasting away time in beaches or in faraway touristy spots?! As I was enjoying my coffee (I have read from John Grisham's The Broker that in Italy, it's almost taboo to order Capucchino after 10am), I remembered that I last did this when I was in my 1st year at the university. Even then, I didn't have time to hang around with friends. I've always been busy trying to become a responsible adult and get ahead of that corporate ladder. Looking back, I wished I would have done it differently. I was always busy and I never had time for boyfriend. But then again the only guy I wanted to be with was my bestfriend. The very bestfriend who would always dance with me, whom I'd bet against in pingpong, whose X-men code name was Gambit and who was my intellectual match. Unfortunately, I was the second woman in his list. He had this one 'big crush' who I would eventually bridge for. Their story took them the whole 4 years of our university life. Gambit was a very patient man. Now, he's happiliy married with a very cute little girl to that 'big crush' of him. I sometimes blamed it all on my then 'busyness' and dedication to my work at Sell-A-Vision...Haaahhh~~~ flasbacks.
