Kaihim Maruhari was really far by my standards! It took me about an hour's travel time from Shinjuku, via limited express. I however, instantly liked the atmosphere. It was nice, peaceful and 'techie' in it's own unique way. I never thought there's a technopark in Chiba...Anyways, I met Matsunaga-san, my future boss, if I get the job. She's a very likeable person, I like her very much and I think we'll fit working together. We briefly chat in Japanese until the big boss came, Gulitz, he's German.

A really smart guy, I'd gather from the interview and the kind of questions he raised. He's a tough nut to crack, which is actually a good thing. He's typical German, conservative and at the same time honest and blunt. I kind of like it, although he made some nasty comments (and he even acknowledge it) like, my response was 'fair enough, very bookish'. I couldn't help but raised my eyebrows?! Me, bookish?!! I have the slightest idea that my project management style is very bookish. He also said something like, I'm overqualified for the position and the position I'm interested in is my future boss'. Oh well, I said I can handle the Delivery PM for as long as his doors are open for me in the future. I can't really say that I passed or not, although I've honestly been professing my eagerness to join BMW. But my greatest take-away would be the very words that Gulitz has told me 'if you're tired because of politics now, even though you change companies, the same problems are gonna be there, changing company is not the answer.' My ears heard it slightly differently....'Just because you're turning away from you're problems doesn't mean you're solving them. Escaping is never the solution.' I may get the BMW job or not (crossing my fingers that I would, though), but that alone left a lasting impression on me. Gulitz nasty comments only challenges me more not to give up and his wise advises, whether intended or not, shall not be left unheard. I am just praying to God that He'll give me the chance to start all over again....
