My very brief biz trip to Taiwan gave me an opportunity to wander off and go off the beaten track. Incidentally, the opportunity presented itself to me. I was having breakfast and reading the local Sunday newspaper when I came across an article about a place in Taipei where Filipinos hang out on Sundays. Well, I can easily guess it was somewhere near a church. I was right!
I decided to check it out. It was not the most fab place with dark alleys and dilapitated huts, but there were those green mango and shrimp paste vendor on the side streets, as well as fellow kababayans who wanted to bring some bacon back home for their loved ones in the Phils.
