Learning From Baseball

I was never much of a huge baseball fan, until Ichiro and the World Baseball Classic Series turned the face of the game for me in 2006. I have found that baseball is an exciting, but also heartbreaking, and an enduring sport. The pressure is just tremendous, every decision is a make or break, there's no second chance. You decide to take risks, but then be prepared for its consequences. So much like life itself. Every pitch has a life of its own. What goes on in every pitcher's mind, I could probably never figure. The mental toughness and psy war between two ballclubs are just nerve-wrecking. The drama can just go on forever. Now I understand why baseball has endured, and lasted for more than a century and still continues to excite fans and bring color to each baseball day. As for myself, I have became a Red Sox fan and although they are behind in this year's Championship Series, 2-1, hope never flickers in baseball. Who knows, miracle happens, even in the homeplate.
