Thanks to Shana's advise, I've seeked professional advise regarding the career-related issue that I've been under the past two weeks. I have learned some valuable information which I feel is worth sharing to everyone.
Did you know that the Japan labor law protects each employee against
- Position Demotion
- Salary Cut
- Power Harassment
In the case of #1 and #2, should it be deemed necessary for the sake of the business, a proper procedure and hearing should be done and administered by HR in a fair and objective manner. Salary downgrade should not be any lower than 10% of the current compensation.
It is unlawful for a manager to privately ask his employee to resign.
Complaints against a non-compliant organization could be formally submitted in a legal tribunal ( I apologize I forgot specifically the name).
