The Mammoth Site

The site is in South Dakota just south of the BlackHills and about an hour drive from Rapid City. Hot Springs is most famous for the Mammoth Site, the only site in America where mammoth fossils and almost complete set of bones have so far been discovered.
I highly recommend parents to take their children here for educational purposes as there are so much science and history that have unravelled and in fact during the summer period children ages between 6 to 13 years old can participate in excavations. A cool thing to have your children do. As for grown-ups like me, I can't help to wonder how life would have been during the jurassic age. I stand just over 5 feet and side by side with the Wully Mammoth (the same kind as Ice Age's Manny), my head is barely reaching his hind legs. Whew~ It certainly would have been a tough life for homosapiens.
