I read from cnn.com that the novel Eat.Pray.Love by Elizabeth Gilbert is finally making it to a movie which will star Julia Roberts. It will be interesting to watch how Julia will bring the novel to life. Eat.Pray.Love is a story of a woman who fought against the depression of losing everything. She dropped her job and went all the way to Italy (she sure did eat a lot of pizza!), and then to India, where she learned how to meditate. As fate would have it she found love in the far island of Bali, Indonesia. The book is a true story (according to what I read from cnn.com).
OK. I've got a confession to make. This book helped me get through one very messy breakup with Y. 4 tumultous years of trying to save a relationship ended with pretty much 10 lbs heavier (and chubbier) me, and a trip to Bali. I'm not as daring as Elizabeth to drop everything I do but I did manage to spend 2 weeks in Indonesia (Jakarta, Jojakarta and Bali). I didn't find love there (FYI lol!) But I did find it again back in Tokyo...on the badminton courts, in the person of T.
They say love bites you when you're not looking, I'm almost agreeing to it. And in this crazy little world that we live in with the equally crazy life we have, paying attention is almost synanimous to self-preservation...But then again, the love bug's venom is probably one of life's greatest gift to mankind. So my advise - don't analyze! Maybe we should stick to the basics - eat. pray.love.
