Of Metabolism and Fitness.

I am recently hooked to Yoga for its benefits - helps reduce stress, stretches and strengthens the body and it sharpens the mind. I guess the meditation part helps the mind put things in perspective - at work, at home, with friends and with the world. Not to mention that yoga helps get fit.

Speaking of fit, the criteria for metabolism in Japan will be changed for women. Up until now a woman with over 9ocm waistline is めたぼ . They're reducing it to 80cm (abt 31.5inches). Only in Japan is there a criteria that measures waistline to judge if people are in danger of metabolism. For men, it is currently 85cms. Sure sugar levels, body fats and all other factors count but personally I think the Japanese society is so much into 'skinny'. No wonder I have been called fat, baby pig, metabo by my ex. They all want to be super thin and hip and fashionable. Sometimes I feel sad for them because most people now focuses on the 'looks' rather than the person's mind and heart. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking health and fitness for granted but my point is ladies who are supposed to be carriers of future generations have a natural fat storage in their bellies to prepare to craddle the greatest miracle of the world. So it is natural to have 'some'.
As for fashion, I absolutely believe that it is an art of self expression - of how one feels, how one wants to be seen, on top of its basic purpose which is to protect us from the harsh environment. I love being fashionable as long as I am not pressured by other people to wear their passion, because I have the need to wear mine.
