The Toyota Dilemma

I always believed in quality assurance and control. In every project that I do, I always ask myself, when faced with the dilemma of balancing quality, time and cost, that if I give in to this level of quality, will I stake my name on it, will I be comfortable riding my integrity with it. But then let's face it, there is an even greater politics surrounding every institution. As for Toyota who has bravely recalled their cars and is paying out the price of quality for the scandal and business damage it has brought upon itself, I sure do hope that they hang on, and that they learn and that they do the right thing for their company. Akio Toyoda has bravely faced the issue, he has to, and he has no other choice. But he is also strongly saying that there is no fault in the design. I'd like to believe it, but where is the problem? I'd like to know.
