I met a very interesting masseure

Last night's massage was probably the best I ever had in Japan. My usual facial therapist was on leave last night and I was greeted by a very jolly and warm (and fuzzy!) Hara-san. I was dead tired and not really in the mood for chit-chats but somehow her very skillful hands just melted away the physical exhaustion. She told me that she never went to a technical school and what she knows she learned from her Mom who used to be a yoga instructor and from observing how people react to her massage. She made a very good point when she said that she observed that people react the same way to certain points so all she had to do was remember where they are and start from there. No matter what profession you have, it is really very important to be passionate in what you do. She perfectly illustrates that. She also told me that her Mom is already in heaven and that she hasn't really been thinking about her and how her influence helped her become the kind of therapist Hara-san is now. She also used to be a kindergarten teacher and she just has so much thoughts to share which is really very admirable. I hope to see her again and hope to schedule a massage with her again soon.
