My two articles in the recently concluded Japan Yonex Open tourney are among the top most viewed in the site. My semifinals write-up for Lee Chongwei/Boonsak currently tops the page views. People are reading what I write. I can't describe how much fulfillment it gives me whenever I hear people reading what I wrote. My voice is not totally in silence. I guess my father was right all along, if I really did have the talent, it will naturally come to me.
I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to be able to share my passion for badminton through a medium that is very close to my heart - writing. I hope someday I'll have the opportunity to feature players too. Have intimate conversations with them and write about their superiority, their humanity and the special things that make them stand-out. I now know what my goal in life is, and that is to inspire people.
I watched Helen Keller's life story last night (kept me up until 2am!) and as I was on my way to the office I had this epiphany that to live fruitfully in this world, one must really have something that he/she must be really passionate about. We all need something that we truly believe in, we truly want so that every breathe we take, every move we make, every step we take feeds us with inspiration to aspire for something bigger and better.
Thank God for the very trying past year my hibernating passion for writing re-awaken. Thank God for giving me the fear of sinking down in a bottomless pit of depression that, like a prodigal daughter, I went back to the welcoming arms of badminton.
Now I have a voice and I only need a keyboard to spread it to the world.
