Don't judge the book by its cover.

Sometimes you need to really get to the person better in order to understand what the person is thinking, how he/she is reacting, why he/she does the things he do or not do. There is really more than what meets the eyes. I have another testament of that in the form of one of my new colleagues. The best thing about him (so far) that I have known is that he knows how to apologize and accept the mistakes that he/she has done. A positive sign and this is really good for me.
