Jakarta doesn't have a very good reputation for tourists. According to what I hear and read, it is a city where corruption, harrassment, violence and crimes are prevalent. I have not read any nice place to visit within Jakarta. Incidentally, our tour's schedule somehow 'forced' us to stay in Jakarta for a couple of days, so we roamed around and tried to find out what places to see. Sure, there are shacks, street people just like in Manila and scary men lurking on the side streets, but I have come to discover though that Jakarta is an interesting place, not to mention it's skyscrapers and huge and good roads. Their bus system is very organized and there are nice shopping malls. Sure, there's nothing really spectacular about the place, but I think Jakarta will catch up soon with the rest of the growing economies in South East Asia.

Emzi, you jetsetter! You didn't post enough pictures of your Bali trip. So, any interesting view beside the angry waves? hehe.
Thanks so much for feeling my recent posts. Alam mo, having Anton is really a blessing and I can't wait to see him. I turned 39 last June 8 and I think Anton is the first and last child I'll ever have. Nahihirapan lang ako ngayon towards the home stretch (7 months na) kasi can't breath, getting dizzy and near fainting episodes. I think its all a combination of the medicines and pre-natal vitamins my OB has been asking me to take. Ayoko na nga inumin eh.
Keep the faith, Emzi. You will have your own miracle soon, wait and see.
thanks Ton, your in my prayers everyday :)
