Harry Potter Book 7 Review

Harry Potter Book 7 Review, originally uploaded by setyr.

Although I grew up addicted to reading, I've turned my back to reading since I emersed into the professional world. I just didn't have the time. But recently I needed something to take my mind off awful memoirs (refer to 8.6th post hahaha) so I took to reading.

The latest book that I have read was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I read the book twice and I've never read any book more than once in my life before. My friend Darren asked me why. I've answered him
I like the way J.K. Rowlings ended the series. I'm not the biggest fan of the whole Harry Potter series but I think that J.K. Rowlings couldn't have ended it better. .I am under the assumption that everyone else have already read the book, oK?! The triumph of good versus evil and the unimaginable power of selfless love...

The book would have come at the most appropriate timing, but as I was reading the Deathly Hallows, I was reminded that life is not easy and to live it wisely people around you need to help and care.

The very core of a person's character determines his destiny. Harry was tempted by the unlimited power that the three great magics of the Deathly Hallows can give him. The Elderly Wands Power over any living creature on earth, the Living Stones that can bring back dead people into life and the Invisibility Oak that makes a possessor do whatever he wants, without being caught. Although Harry faced temptations, afterall he's just human, and to be human is to be weak especially in times of suffering Harry eventually accepted his fate, not in becoming the All Powerful but in sacrificing himself, his very own breathe, for the good of everyone else, even at the expense of his own happiness, even at the expense of his loved ones' happiness. How else could love be more expressed?

The book taught valuable realities about friendships, that of Harry, Hermione and Ron, and that of the rest of the Order Of The Phoenix. Chivalry is an act with a great purpose, but to stick with your friend through the very end, no matter how painful the experience is great, but I believe what makes it even better in this book is the fact that even our most beloved ones make mistakes, they can hurt us, just like when Ron left Harry and Hermione on the direst of moments. But what I think is best expressed in this book is that no matter how much we make mistakes, or we betray our friends, true friendship means that accepting your own faults, and after you do, going back with humility that you know you're wrong and the strength to face fear of rejection. Ron could have been rejected by Harry and Hermione, but he was truthful enough to know where his heart truly belongs. True friendship means that you can hurt each other, becuase you are HUMAN, but it shouldn't end this way. TRUE FRIENDS WILL ALWAYS FIND THEIR WAY TO EACH OTHER.

Hermione has always been smart, but the last chapter of the book justified her as a girl who longed to belong, who longed to show everyone that no matter how lowly people think of her as a Muggle, she believes in herself and she is willing to stand by her word, even if means choosing between the love of her life and her honor and friendship. Hermione have exhibited the kindness of a girl's heart, and the toughness of a woman's conviction. She is I think the perfect embodiment of a great woman- someone who'd shed tears for her loved ones, but prefers to keep her private stuffs alone in lieu of getting the job done, because she believes that finishing off the Horcouxes will save the world.

The book have also demonstrated the great and the noblest of virtues: the love for family - love of a father to his child, the mother to her children, the love of wife and husband, that of siblings and that to his /her parents. James Potter tried to protect his family at the expense of his own life, he was very proud of his son Harry. Mr. Weasley was your typical quiet-type man who speaks with conviction and with authority to make sure that Ron obeys and respects his mother, Lupin thought he was doing the right thing for his unborn child but eventually realized the joy and pride of a father. He was even proudly showing off his son's picture during those most dangerous times. Tears actually fell down my face when I read that chapter. It was nothing but a one-liner but I thought, personally, that Teddy (the unborn baby) was a very lucky child with a father who is proud of him and who would fight to the very end to make sure that his son would have a better place to live in. Mrs. Weasley and Narcissa care so much for their children that they forget themselves in the process. Moms know best. This I have realized now. That mothers worry and cry and break their hearts, even at the slightest possibility that their children will get hurt. That the most seemingly pathetic situation will bring out tears of sorrow, fear, joy or pride ballooned by the love that only a mother can ever feel for her child.

Tonks was there for Lupin all the time, she endured Lupin's indecisiveness and she was there to carry Teddy their son, in her womb and to fight side by side with her husband, with the one person who will forever hold her heart, and die side by side as well. This is another chapter that brought tears out of my already weary eyes. Tonks, the wife who understood her husband and who in spite of everything remained vibrant, blooming and radiant, all for her love of Lupin. Fred happily and easily forgiving his brother Percy who have abandoned their fight for freedom. Percy who finally realized that at the end of it, family and goodness will withstand everything. Ron was willing to fight all the way for his dead brother Fred. And Harry, who understood his fate and chose to face it alone, for the sake of all the people he have loved. Any normal person will choose to be with their true love, but Harry gave up Ginny, because he knew that he will cause her sorrow. A sacrifice that I will honestly half-heartedly disagree. But Ginny understood it. She wasn't hoping for more. She just loved Harry. Ahhh love. Love stirs the world and turns us into the best we can ever be. Who could be more exemplary than Professor Snape who have loved all his life, have sacrificed, have suffered to the point that he was willing to be the anti-hero, he was willing to be the black sheep, the bad guy to everyone else, just to do one simple act for the one person he have loved all his life - Lily. To keep Lily's child, Lily's heart alive in Harry Potter, for better or for worse.

But I guess what I would forever like most about the ending to Harry Potter....is that after ever great and momentous time, everything will go down to what matters most... HOME.
