More About Homemaking

My post may already sound boring to my few readers but I'm so much into homemaking recently. So far, these are what I've learned....
  1. There is no such thing perfect plan! My House Transfer Project was almost perfect..except for some glitches. Leak in my bathroom, and in the toilet. The renovators apparently fixed it last Saturday, but came Sunday and there it was again. Aside from this somewhat humbling experience, there's one lesson learned the hard way here - fully renovated or newly built houses don't necessarily finish fool-proof. Meaning, we, as tenants need to put extra leeway, say a week to really check the interiors and exteriors, leaks, holes, everything that we can possibly verify before we plunge into our new homes. I realized things could have gotten worse but still.
  2. To Do Lists and not Post-its! I thought I did good on this area...Until I went to get some stuffs in my old apartment last Sunday and went through my old mailbox and I was surprised to find mails coming from Philippines. I thought I already completed that task. Another lesson here is to KEEP CONTACT NUMBERS of CONTRACTORS, YOUR REAL ESTATE, and everybody you keep in contact with for this activity. You will most probably end up with follow-us.
  3. Enjoy the journey ~ Some things will screw up anyway, but do enjoy the journey. Enjoy each little step as arranging your furniture, admiring your new kitchen, making do with what you have, and what your friends can donate (instead of impulse-buying!), breathe your new air and know your neighbors. These things won't happen again, so enjoy it while it lasts.
