Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park

The Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park is a National Park that is shared by both the US and Canada. One can enter the park either via US or via Canada (border immigration control applies here).
We drove through the scenic and famous Go To The Sun drive. We went to the Apgar Visitor Center first and saw a Park Ranger. The Ranger recommended we drive all the way up to the Logan Pass, through the Mc Donald road. Along the way, he also recommended that we take the Avalange Hike trail.

The trail is a good old 3 hours hike and by the time we reached the parking area, snow started to fall, and as advised by the Ranger, we aimed to get out of the park by 5pm. On our way out, we saw a couple of deers crossing. Unfortunately we didnt see sheeps and bears.

Our hotel was still in a nice small town of Kalispell, about 30 miles from the park entrance. Very close to the hotel is AppleBee's family restaurant where we had dinner. Right next to it is Wal-Mart where I managed to grab bonnet and gloves.

Our first day here was not capped with spectacular views, but with stories and chats we exchanged with fellow visitors. It is amazing to know that a lot of people travel far in order to find a little bit peace and serenity. And oh...it was my first snow this winter season.
