Apologies - I have the Olympic fever...
When Japan's Daisuke Takahashi brought home the bronze men's figure skating medal, I silently cried with him. He put everything in a very thoughtful and wise context, 'all the pain and the struggles happened because they were the essential components to get this Olympic glory'. Daisuke injured himself in Oct 2008 and sat out the whole 2009 season to recuperate. He himself didn't think he's going to skate again. He gave up a lot of times. But people around him guided him to finally find the courage to dive in and take in the pain. No pain no glory. The greater the pain, the greater the glory. Now, Daisuke is back. Even though his medal's color is bronze, it shines so much brighter than gold. He inspired me to work hard and go on o conquer my own olympics. I'm hopeful that someday I will say the very words Daisuke Takahashi said 'everything, all the pain are the essential components to be able to get the Olympic glory.
