Raw emotions and heart-pounding finishes is what the ladies freestyle mogul finals was all about. Uemura Aiko from Japan couldnt hold her tears back as she waited hopefully to grab a medal. Her hopes slowly slid as the final 2 skiers (the world ranked #1 respectively) made their way to the top. Hooray for the US. And tears for Aiko. When interviewed later on, her frustrations summed it up in a very disappointing 'Why does it have to be one step at a time?'. This year is her 4th olympics with 7,6,5 and this year 4th finish. Being an athlete myself I understand the frustrations. You work your heart out and you give it all, but still that goal feels so near yet so far. Aiko is just 30 yo, she probably still has one last chance in 2014. She won the world championships last year. It means she can do it. She's done it before against the same players but just at a different venue. So, it is possible. I hope the fire that burns and the desire to win doesnt die out. As for me, I'm itching to go up the mountains and try tricks but I also want my badminton techniques to be back, and I also want to really learn and be good at swimminig. It'll take time to do all those, but this year is all about wearing my passion. And taking it one day at a time.
