MIke's Farewell.

Dealing with sorrow and loneliness is not an easy business. I've tried and still trying different ways to distract myself, to give myself some time to absorb it all, and then let go. In the process I have rediscovered the company of 'gaijins'. I've been around Japanese so much that I for sometime forgotten that I'm a foreigner too. And so with new gaijin friends I am starting to open my eyes to situations where I didnt think about too much in the past. Last night Mike a new friend of mine had his farewell party. He's found an English teaching job in Korea leaving behind his dearie Jen here. Both are young in their early 20s but I salute them for their boldness to literally conquer the world, one from Philly and the other from Michigan. Whew-! Anyway, back to the farewell party, we had dinner at The Pink Cow, a mexican chill out place where they apparently have language exchange and cultural events. I like the place, very laidback. The place is about 8 minutes away from Shibuya station. Mostly gaijins go there, I figure. Afterwards then, we went to Tokyo Comedy Store also in Shibuya. It's a standup comedy (in English of course). Good American fun. Appealing definitely to foreigners because the jokes are about a day in the life of a foreigner living in Japan. Tough life. Japanese Ken Suzuki was really good!!! I'd love to see him again. Oh and I saw 'Oniisan' from Softbank in the TCS.
