Cleaning Up My Closet

One step at a time. That sums up the biggest change in me over the past year. I have grown to appreciate that there are limits, that there are bounderies, and that we all need to acknowledge that no matter how good we are at multi tasking, it really takes one step at a time.

So, one major step I have taken over the weekend was cleaning up my closet. I checked documents and papers that were forever stuck in paper bags with the goal of throwing away junk. I checked my book racks and cabinets to see if there are easily recognizable clutter that I can just dispose of. I finally tuck away my leather boots for next winter's use and was surprised to find out that I still have lots and lots of summer shoes, sandals, stilletos that I put away in boxes because I was saving space for T. I replaced my shoes in my shoe rack with the sandals, and hopefully by the end of autumn, I would have disposed some again. I'm still half-way but I'm getting there. Ultimately my goal is to arrange my stuffs and make a re-inventory of what I'm wasting just because I forgot that they exist.
Cleaning up the closet(s) is stressful, so I'm taking it in baby steps, a little bit of here and there, one day at a time. I don't want to devote a whole day just to open all my closed boxes because if I rush it, I might make the wrong choices - which to keep, which to dispose, which to give away.
